Incident Reporting
You should also note that in addition to the clubs Incident Report Book, all incidents must now be reported on line at www.ara-rowing.org and click on Incident Reporting
Incidents which must be reported include all incidents even if no damage or injury is sustained and also includes near misses, act of violence or hooliganism, and incidents in or around the boat house. ie twisted ankles, pulled muscles or other minor injuries caused during land training or when putting a boat away should be reported just as boat capsize or collisions.
Row Safe
The ARA Water Safety Code has now been replaced by Row Safe. This new document aims to raise awareness of safety amongst all members and to encourage everybody to think about safety first in all rowing activities both on and off the water. To do this you should assess the risk before every activity.
There is now a new Row Safe notice board by the door in the boat house. Please familiarise yourself with the notices and information on this board and check the board regularly for new information and updates.
Documents
The ARA Key Points document covers the basics of water safety whilst rowing. You can view the complete offical Row Safe information on the ARA's Row Safe Page or ask Leicester Rowing Club's Water Safety Advisor Martin Jones-Gerrard for a copy.
You should also be familiar with LRC's Guidance Notes document which covers all aspects of safety before, during and after your outing at Leicester. The Stay with the Boat poster covers what you should do if you fall in.
Please refer to the Regatta Safety and Organisation Plan for any safety concerns around our annual Regatta.
